The Voice UK's Bo Bruce Blasts Record Label: 'They Didn't Bother Doing Any Promo'

Bo Bruce has spoken out about her decision to part ways with her record label

The Voice's Bo Bruce has ended her contract with Mercury Records and blasted them for not promoting her properly.

Bo may have scored a top 10 album with Before I Sleep, but it seems like things quickly went downhill for the singer, with her revealing in a recent interview that she didn't feel like her label trated her well professionally.

"I'd been fighting with my record label after they didn't bother doing any promo for my last single Alive and then they tried to put out another single without any back-up," Bo told The Sun.

“So I put a stop to it going out, pulled the video and said that it is not being released if you won’t work for me properly.

"I have no idea how I lasted so long without anyone championing me."

An insider close to the singer added: "X Factor have a history of supporting their talent. But Bo failed to hear from BBC producers after the show finished."

Meanwhile, Bo has previously made a dig at the BBC for failing to help former winner Leanne Mitchell make it in the industry.

She told The Sun: "I think it was really hard for Leanne after she won. They just put out a single and didn’t really advertise the fact that it was out there and available to buy.

"Normally you would have a huge marketing campaign before a big release. But you can’t do that when you have won The Voice."

She went on: "Being part of the BBC, they can’t be seen to do that. They have far more restrictions. If you look at The X Factor, they are allowed to heavily promote an artist or a singer. Because of that, they almost always have at least one No 1 single."

MIAOW! Bo's Shock Dig At Danny

The romance must be over! Bo Bruce disses Danny and says Will.i.am is 'the best' Voice coach.

Boho chick Bo Bruce and dishy Danny O'Donoghue couldn't have seemed closer on last year's The Voice. The pair may have refused to confirm a romance, but they certainly told us over and over again that they were great mates.

So we are incredibly shocked that Bo, 28 has apparently made a complete U-turn, telling us that Will.i.am is actually the best coach on the show. Her comments will come as a shock to her former mentor Danny - especially as he's bidding for victory in this Saturdays final.

Speaking EXCLUSIVELY to Now, Bo reveals: 'Danny and I worked well together because he let me boss him around. But I think Will would have led me more, even though I wanted to do my own thing at the time''

'Will is such a dude and by far the most interesting guy there. He's fearless, inspiring and eccentric. He's definitely the best judge - better than.... whatever the others are called.' DOUBLE OUCH!

But it's hard to blame Bo for her dig at Danny, 32 - after all, he's admitted to using his role on The Voice to eye up potential girlfriends. 'I'm a ladies' man,' The Script frontman recently confessed. 'There are a lot more pretty girls on the show. I'm telling them they are gorgeous because I'm single and I'm looking. I certainly wouldn't rule out dating a fan. Ever!'

Meanwhile, Bo's claimed she used her feelings for Danny as the basis of her songs on her album. On her debut single Save Me, release in April, she sang: 'You made me want you and I didn't want to. Why would you wake me if you're not gonna save me?'

The song sparked speculation that Danny had been the one to cool their relationship - but he's since denied inspiring the lyrics.

EXCLUSIVE! The Voice’s Bo Bruce on Danny O'Donoghue: ‘I'm Sure We Can Hang Out, Just Not In Public’

Everyone seems fascinated by Bo Bruce’s will they or won’t they relationship with her former coach from The Voice Danny O’Donoghue.

Bo has now admitted that there is a good chance that she will spend some time with Danny in the future, but unfortunately we won’t know anything about it because she wants to keep her private life private. Drat!

“I'm very much trying to stay away from the limelight. Danny knows how to keep his life out of the limelight and I do too. I'm sure we can hang out, in a non [public way]. It just got so full on, it was very new for me,” she tells heat of the speculation surrounding her relationship with the Script singer.

Bo also admits that she’s happy to be away from The Voice because all of the attention her relationship with Danny caused became too much,

“I'm happy to have moved on from The Voice. Because of the ‘will they, won't they’ stories about Danny and I. I just didn't think it was possible to make a record with all that attention. I didn't think I was going to get there,” she says of making her album

And on the subject of music, Bo has singled out will.i.am as The Voice coach she would most like to work with in the future.

“Will.i.am's crew and management I really go on with in the show. I'd like to work with Will.i.am, but I will work on my own stuff for now,” she says of a possible collaboration.

Bo Bruce: Bosses Wrecked My Romance With Danny O’Donoghue

THE VOICE star Bo Bruce says meddling bosses ruined her chance of a romance with judge Danny O’Donoghue.

The singer, who insists their relationship during the BBC show was not a stunt, said The Script frontman ditched her after warnings.

She regrets the bond the pair developed but insists she is not bitter about it. Bo, who wouldn’t name those responsible, told TV Biz: “We were incredibly close and he’s a hot guy. It was a mad time and meeting someone under those circumstances is difficult.

“I was very vulnerable and I regret a lot of things that happened.

“There was such an obsession with whether or not we were together and that put wild amounts of pressure on us.

“In the end a decision was made for him to not be around me. The process of writing my album Before I Sleep began when I was supposed to go with Danny to a Coldplay concert. It was meant to be an end-of-The-Voice present — for him and me. But he was told he was not allowed to, because he couldn’t be seen with me in public.

“So I ended up not going with him but someone took pity on me and invited me to Coldplay’s box, with Coldplay’s agent, who then wanted to sign me.

“So although I said I have regrets about what happened, it led to so many other things.”

Bo — real name Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce — bonded with Danny after he split from model girlfriend Irma Mali last year.

But the runner-up, who juggled caring for her terminally ill mum with competing for the show title, said their friendship has since waned. And she admitted she was disappointed that he failed to turn up to her album launch at London’s The Social last week, despite false reports he was there.

Bo, who lost out in The Voice final to Leanne Mitchell, still refuses to confirm or deny that she shared a romance with her Irish mentor.

But she revealed that she has laid bare her feelings about him on her album, including the debut single Save Me.

On the track, which is released with the album on April 29, Bo sings: “You made me want you and I didn’t want to/ Why would you wake me if you’re not going to save me?”

Bo said: “I can’t talk about it openly because it doesn’t just affect me. But I answer everything on my album. It’s fair to say it makes things pretty clear.”

Bo Bruce: The Voice’s Danny O’Donoghue Is Keeping His Distance After I Wanted More

The Voice’s Danny O’Donoghue has been keeping his former protégé Bo Bruce at arms-length after she admitted she wanted more than he was willing to give after they struck up a spark on last year’s series.

The Script singer has denied he mixed business with pleasure with the 28-year-old singing aristocrat as he still had a girlfriend at the time but Bruce refuses to deny the bedroom claims.

‘No, I haven’t (denied it),’ she said.

‘I… what do I say? It was an incredible whirlwind that show. There was so much rumour and pressure on us, it was mad.’

Bo says Danny’s ex-lover, Lithuanian model named Irma Mali, put a spanner in the works on their blossoming on screen chemistry, although the couple split shortly after the gossip surfaced.

‘He had a girlfriend throughout the filming of The Voice,’ said Bruce.

Since Danny has kept his distance from Bruce after she confessed she may have been a little too eager after he helped her cope with losing her mum, Rosamond Winkley, to cancer.

Bruce, real name Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce, told New! magazine: ‘I mean we, both felt a lot of pressure. I was going through a lot at that time and I was possibly looking to him for more help than he would be able to give under the circumstances with what the press were saying to us.’

Revealing the 32-year-old Irish star has been giving her the silent treatment, she added: ‘He’s been on his world tour so he’s been a bit busy for me. I haven’t seen him recently but we text all the time.’

However, eager Bo already has big plans for the pair when he gets round to helping her with her solo career.

‘I’m really looking forward to seeing him again soon. It’s been a long time but we’ve been in constant contact, what with the album, and he’s given me a lot of advice. We’re directing the video of my next single together and I’m trying to get him to be in the video!'

GLEN'S POWER TRIP

AROUND the time of rumours saying, falsely, I was dating The Voice’s Bo Bruce, attention on what the band were doing was high.

Glen Power, who plays drums, didn’t realise how intense it had got until papers cropped a photo so it looked like I was in it.

He was having a cigarette with Bo at the back of a club and someone had gotten a picture.

Even though I’m 6ft 4in and he’s 5ft 4in, they made it look like me.

There was a caption saying: “Danny and Bo having a cheeky cigarette”.

That night as we got home, photographers were literally under the car and on top of the car, taking pictures

It got a little bit scary.

They put the cameras in the front window and Glen was covering his face

Danny Dating Again After Bo Rumours

Danny O'Donoghue admits he is dating following the recent break-up with his model girlfriend Irma Mali. But The Script star reiterates that no hanky panky went on with Bo Bruce, who he mentored on the UK Voice.

"We shared an intimate performance on TV, that's all," he stresses.

"When people snog on Corrie, people don't think they're together. But in retrospect it was a bit racy.

"For the first three or four weeks after the show ended, I didn't read much about Leanne Mitchell or Tyler James.

"It gave Bo press all the way to the V festival, where she played to a packed-out crowd."

And he admits his Dublin-based former girlfriend Irma Mali struggled to cope with the fall-out. "It was f**ing hard on my ex when words like 'affair' were used," he says of the Lithuanian model's reaction.

"I'm sure there are people who think I had an affair with Bo, but I would never cheat.

"I knew Irma would be fine - and you can't buy publicity like that."

Danny (31), who was recently linked to a mystery woman in America, adds: "I'm young free and single.

"I'm quite busy but I'm playing the field.

"I'm open to it, but I'm just like anybody who is single.

"But I've just come out of a long-term relationship - I'd be foolish to go straight back into another one."

The Script's Danny O'Donoghue: I'm still single

The Script singer says he was inspired by his break-up to write last single

Danny O'Donoghue says he used the heartbreak from the end of his last relationship to write single Six Degrees of Separation.

The singer for The Script, who was also a judge on The Voice, says: 'I split up with my long-term girlfriend and that happened to fall in the period where we were writing an album.

'I'm still single and I tend to fluctuate between being in a relationship, going out of one, being in a relationship, going out of one.'

Er, like most people then.

Danny, 32, admitted last month he no longer speaks to Bo Bruce, who he mentored on The Voice.

At the time of the show, Danny and Bo were linked after he split from model girlfriend Irma Mali, 28.

'I still really believe in the show,' Danny told The Daily Star about the BBC talent show which he judged along with Jessie J.

A pint of Guinness with Danny O’Donoghue

The Script frontman, 32, takes Fabulous for a pint of Irish holy water to tell us the truth about The Voice, his new album and what really happened with Bo Bruce.

Danny and Fabulous‘ Danielle get stuck into the black stuff

Where The Duke of York, St John’s Wood, London

That pint seems to be going down very easily, Danny!
Well I’m from Dublin so of course I love Guinness. We’ve got a song on the new album called Good Ol’ Days about being down the pub with mates, and it would be perfect for a Guinness commercial. Do you think they might sign me up for an endorsement deal?

Haven’t you got enough on?
This year has been so, so bloody busy. I’ve filmed The Voice, we’ve been in the studio recording our new album, we’ve got a UK tour then a tour in Australia.

Wow, you are a busy boy. Now spill the beans, are you going to return to the next series of The Voice?
If they’ll have me – I have to wait and see, but a slot’s been cleared in our schedule in case I go back. Though
I hear they had to spend more time editing out my cursing than they did making those spinning chairs!

Danny and Bo duet on The Voice

Potty mouth! You’ve found time to record a new album though…
I think we hit an emotional level with this album. There’s a song called If You Could See Me Now, which is about my father Shay passing away nearly four years ago, and Mark’s [Sheehan, Danny’s band mate] mum and dad who died when he was 12. The place he feels able to let his feelings out is in a song.

Is that how you and Bo Bruce got so close on The Voice, because you could empathise with her losing her mum?
I knew a bit of what she was going through, and what she had to do to get out and go on stage every week was very special.

There are rumours you split with your girlfriend [model Irma Mali, 28] and started dating Bo during the show…
Nothing happened. When you’re on a show like that, the interest is crazy. I worked closely with Bo, but she’s got new management so we’re not in contact.

What did Irma make of it all?
She says they can say whatever they want. She’s a very solid and good person. I’m sure it affects her though.

You were together for four years, do you think you’ll get back together?
I do still wear her ring, but I suppose I’m young, free and single. It’s difficult because any potential suitors are going to be sitting there thinking: “Oh I’m not going to date him, I’m going to end up in every paper from here to Timbuktu.”

You must be getting loads of female attention after the show, though?
The amount of knickers I’ve been sent have reached Tom Jones levels! It’s a nice feeling having everyone wanting to shake my hand.

The Voice’s ratings were quite disappointing. Would you make any changes to the new series?

I’m not a TV man, I do the music. It’s hard to keep 12 million people happy, but the chair rounds were brilliant. I guess the last live round felt like it was drawn out a little bit so I think they are looking into changing that. Or maybe get rid of me! No, that’s a joke. I want to come back I had a f*****g great time!

EXCLUSIVE: Bo Bruce talks about her relationship with Danny O’Donoghue

He was rumoured to have been more than just a mentor to the singer during her time on 'The Voice' but now Bo Bruce has set the record straight about her relationship with Danny O'Donoghue.

Talking exclusively to omg! at 'The Sweeney' premiere tonight, Bo told us that although she does think Danny is attractive, their relationship is strictly professional.

She told us: "Yeah he is good looking but I never saw him like that — it just got so hyped up."

"It got silly, it wasn't great for either of us — we just want to do what we want to do and just work together and get on with it and it was a distraction."

The pressure of being pursued by the press when in Danny's company at one time even led to the singer becoming injured.

She explained: "It was a big distraction — we couldn't hang out without being chased by paparazzi — I got my leg shut in a door once — it just got silly."

"My leg and the situation are much better now though — we were in the studio on Friday actually."

Bo believes that the reason the public took so much of an interest in their relationship was because ultimately, everybody loves a scandal.

She told us: "I felt like everyone wanted it to be something — a great big love affair. People love scandal."

"I used to read those magazines and believe it all but now I've been on the other side I realise that's how it works."

Now that the hype surrounding the pair's alleged romance has died down, Bo has been able pull her focus back onto her work.

"I'm writing with Danny and Snow Patrol and Athlete and it's all going really well minus the scandal!"

The Voice's Bo Bruce: There was intensity in my relationship with Danny O'Donoghue

Both deny romance rumours

The Voice contestant Bo Bruce has admitted that she had an intense relationship with mentor Danny O'Donoghue - but only as close mates.

Bo and Danny have both have always denied speculation about a romance, but their strong bond developed because of their shared experiences of losing a parent.

Bo's mum Rosamond Winkley passed away in July after a battle with pancreatic cancer, whilst Danny unexpectedly lost his dad Shay O'Donoghue due to a stomach aneurysm shortly before The Script released their first album.

‘I was going through a lot and it was somethingDanny had been through,' Bo, 27, tells Ticket.

‘There was the intensity in that and we were really good mates. It's a confusing thing - people can't just be mates, but I've always had boy mates.'

Danny, who had recently split from girlfriend of 4 years Irma Mali when he started filming The Voice, found the rumours of a romance with Bo came at a difficult time.

‘It's been hard,' Danny, 31, tells The Sun.

‘I'd escape the pain of the break-up by going into the studio. I could deal with it all fine but it was all those crazy rumours of who I was dating.

‘This is the band's first time of dealing with the spotlight. I've been asked why I let the rumours go on for so long. But there's no handbook on how to deal with this, plus I was grieving. My relationship had ended.'

There's nothing going on between me and Bo Bruce

Danny O'Donoghue: There's nothing going on between me and Bo Bruce - it was just choreography
Danny insists he and The Voice contestant are not an item

Danny O'Donoghue is a big fan of Bo Bruce, the contestant he mentored on The Voice, but the pair are not in a relationship.

Fans of the talent show were sure something was going on when they saw Danny, 31, gripping Bo, 28, real name Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce, by the hip during their Read All About It duet, but The Script star says it was simply BBC choreography.

'There's nothing...nothing going on,' Danny told Lisa Snowdown and Dave Berry on Capital Radio after Dave asked if he'd 'dipped his pen in the company ink'.

'No, no not at all. This story kind of came out of nowhere.

'We were on TV, we had this moment where we were face to face - part of the BBC choreography is that you listen to the choreographer and do what they're saying.

'It was one of those moments on TV where everybody went: "Oh saucy, there's something going on there". Not at all no.'

Even so, Grammy winner Will.i.am reckons Danny and Bo are 'kindred spirits'.

The Script's Danny O'Donoghue: "I'm Not Dating Bo Bruce" - Audio

The 'Hall Of Fame' singer insists nothing went on between the pair during The Voice UK competition.

The Script's Danny O'Donoghue has denied reports that he is dating The Voice UK finalist Bo Bruce.

The singer mentored Bo on the talent show and there pair were romantically linked after performing a cover of Professor Green's 'Read All About It' during the competition.

Appearing on Capital FM for the first play of The Script's new song 'Hall Of Fame' featuring Will.i.am, Danny insisted nothing had happened between him and Bo.

"No, no not at all. This story came out of nowhere," he said.

"We were on TV, we had this moment where we were face to face. It was one of those moments on TV where everybody went: 'Oh saucy, there's something going on there'. Not at all no."

Meanwhile, fans of The Script have praised the group's new single 'Hall Of Fame' , which sees Danny team up with his fellow The Voice UK judge Will.i.am for the first time.

Bo slaps Danny with an ultimatum

Desperate to become a genuine couple, Bo Bruce has told Danny O’Donoghue to go public with the romance – or she’s walking

Both Danny O’Donoghue and Bo Bruce are clearly besotted with each other, but ‘The Voice’ judge is still holding back on making his rumoured romance with Bo Bruce official. Danny, 31, has confessed to friends that he has strong feelings for the 27- year- old Bo, but he’s too scared to face the public and admit it.

‘The Voice’ finalist Bo, has had a hard time of late. Her mother passed away after a long cancer battle and she’s sick of playing games with Danny.

A source tells us: ‘Everyone thinks Bo is totally infatuated with Danny and will do anything he asks, but she’s ready to put her foot down with him now. Although she is mad about him, she feels he should be prepared to publically admit his feelings for her. Bo has told him: “I act like your girlfriend, and you say you have feelings – so why are you so scared to admit it?”

The situation is tricky for Danny, as he only split with long-term girlfriend Irma Mali, two months ago.

He denied that Bo was the reason, but it was clear during their time on “The Voice,” and described her as his ‘everything’ during the live final.

UNDER INTENSE PRESSURE

Last week, we told how Danny isn’t ready to jump into another relationship despite his undoubted chemistry with Bo. But the strain is growing, ‘Danny is feeling really pressurised,’ the source says. He’s a very private guy and feels all hell will break loose as soon as he openly admits he’s crazy about her.’

Bo, however, is fed up with stolen kisses and secret cuddles, and almost feels as if the Irish hunk is ashamed of her.

The pal adds: ‘It’s tough for Bo because her friends, family and industry pals keep asking what’s going on between them. She feels silly having to bat off all the questions, so she’s told him he has to man up and show her and the world that he’s not embarrassed to be seen with her.”

MADE TO LOOK DESPERATE

Danny certainly hasn’t shied away from Bo since ‘The Voice’ ended, but Bo is concerned by his reluctance to commit.

The source adds: “They are texting, calling each other late at night and even going on dates. But Bo is starting to feel that Danny is not going the extra mile to show they are a united couple.

“She may feel like she’s landed the jackpot with him, but she is not prepared to be made to look desperate.”

Seeking comfort from Danny O'Donoghue? Bo Bruce's mum dies

The Voice star Bo Bruce is mourning the death of her mum.

Rosamond Winkley, who was seriously ill throughout Bo's time on the BBC talent show, lost her 6-month battle with pancreatic cancer this week.

A statement on Bo's official website reads: ''Bo's mother Ros passed away peacefully in the night, at home, surrounded by loved ones.

''Bo would like to thank all of you for the messages of love and support, they mean so much to her. She promises she will be back before too long, for now she is spending quiet time with her close friends and family.''

Aristocrat Bo - whose real name is Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce - cancelled an appearance at the T In The Park festival to be by her mother's side last week.

Bo has been estranged from her father - the Earl of Cardigan, David Brudenell-Bruce - since he divorced her mother seven years ago.

He tried to get back in touch with his daughter when she appeared on The Voice, but she reportedly wants nothing to do with him.

Bo could be seeking comfort from her Voice mentor Danny O'Donoghue, who she's been romantically linked with since their time on the programme.

The pair were snapped partying together in London last week, but strongly deny any rumours of romance.

The Script singer Danny, 31, called Bo 'an inspiration' and performed a rather heated duet with her on the show's final, but his spokesman said: ''Danny and Bo are definitely just friends.''

Danny and Bo’s late night hook-up!

Just good friends? Check out these candid snaps of Danny O’Donoghue and Bo Bruce heading home together.

Secret hook-ups, stolen kisses, when nobody’s looking... We’ve all been through that stage of trying to keep a new romance secret.

So we have to feel sorry for Bo Bruce and Danny O’Donoghue, who just can’t enjoy that butterfly stage of their romance, and instead they have to keep it under wraps.

Proof that their paper thin ‘we’re just good mates’ excuse is basically is basically gubbins came last week, when Bo and Danny were snapped clambering into the back of a taxi at 2.30am after partying the night away in London’s Soho.

‘Bo and Danny arranged to meet up at a private members’ club where they thought they’d get some privacy,’ says our source.

Danny was already out with mates when Bo and a female friend turned up, and our insider adds: ‘Danny had invited Bo out as he’s really trying to cheer her up at the moment. She’s been down over her family dramas and he wants to inject some fun into her life.’

Electric feelings

And fun with Danny clearly did the trick, as our source continues: ‘Bo was laughing hysterically most of the night as Danny kept her entertained with his attempts at funny accents. She and Danny have so much in common, and really fancy each other.’

‘If things keep progressing like they are at the moment, it won’t be long before they are a full-on-couple.’
After copious amounts of alcohol, Danny, 31, clearly wanted to continue the night alone with Bo, 27. They hotfooted it to another venue before piling into a taxi, attempting to look inconspicuous,

‘Bo has told Danny that she has feelings for him. She says he’s been her rock and that she couldn’t have got through the past few months without him,

‘Bo’s mum has been poorly with cancer, and she’s estranged from her Dad, the Earl of Cardigan. Meanwhile Danny has recently split from long-term girlfriend Irma Mali, and their rough patches have drawn them together.
‘Bo didn’t want them to play games so she just told him the truth about her feelings. He said that he’s always just a phone call away, which made Bo melt,’ says our source.

Definate chemistry

‘There’s a definite chemistry between them, but they have been keen to stay out of the limelight and see where their relationship goes without any pressure.’

But after their London love-in, it’s clear that the new couple just can’t keep their hands off each other.

‘It’s very early days,’ adds our sauce. ‘Danny isn’t ready to jump head first into another full-on relationship just yet, but he has a very strong connection to Bo.

‘He isn’t ruling out things developing in the future.’

Danny's not singing blues out with Bo

Danny O'Donoghue appears to be fully over his love-split as he enjoys a night out with rumoured love interest Bo Bruce.

The Script frontman was left heartbroken earlier this month after splitting from his stunning model girlfriend Irma Mali.

Despite previously denying he was in a relationship with protegee Bo, the pair appeared extremely close as they spent a night out in London.

The Dubliner, 31, kept buying drinks for the 27-year-old aspiring star throughout their night at the plush Groucho Club.

But Danny went out of his way to avoid being caught by the paparazzi with Bo - after it was rumoured he split with Irma to be with her.

However, they were spotted looking engrossed in each other's company as they had a smoke together just inside the nightclub's doors before leaving together in a taxi.

An insider said: "They had such a great time together - and definitely haven't stopped meeting up just because The Voice is over.

"She does seem to be one of the closest people in his life right now."

That's not in The Script! Danny O'Donoghue and The Voice's Bo Bruce fuel romance rumours with a night out at the Groucho

It's nearly a month since The Voice finished, but Danny O'Donoghue is still in touch with his final act Bo Bruce.

Although they vehemently denied they were secretly dating, it appears The Script frontman is continuing his friendship with the aspiring star.
