Air Traffic Control Glitch Finally Resolved

 

Technical problems that caused delays and cancellations at airports across the UK and Ireland have been resolved, the National Air Traffic Service (Nats) said at At 7.30pm tonight.

"The problem that arose this morning with the ground communications system in the area control operations room at Nats Swanwick has now been resolved and operations are returning to normal..

So now Danny O'Donoghue is the man who along with hundreds of other passengers can now be moved....

The Script’s secret recording sessions at Temple Bar studio

 

THEY could have recorded in New York or London but The Script have been putting the finishing touches to their fourth studio album in Dublin city center.

The Herald can exclusively reveal that for the past month the top secret VIP clients at Temple Lane Recording Studios in Temple Bar have been singer Danny O'Donoghue and bandmates Mark Sheehan and Glen Power.

“There was a real fear that if fans found out The Script were recording in Temple Bar, hundreds of screaming girls would have turned up and the sessions would have been abandoned. So the whole thing has been a big secret,” an insider told the Herald.

To avoid word getting out band members were asked to show up at the studio one at a time.

“Given Temple Bar is full of English stag parties and hen nights, it's a miracle that Danny – known to millions of viewers on BBC's The Voice – managed to get go unnoticed each day” an insider added.

The studio is no stranger to star talent, as Rihanna recorded her global hit Love The Way You Lie in Temple Lane Studios in 2010.

Snow Patrol, The Black Eyed Peas and Morrissey have also paid a visit to the iconic studios.

Last September, The Script thrilled fans with an impromptu busking session in Temple Bar.

This fourth CD marks a major turning point for the band. Having sold four million albums and nine million singles, the release will end their four-album deal with Sony Music.

Should it be a hit, it will leave the three Dubliners free to negotiate a new record deal which could be worth millions.

The Script appeared at The Ivy House Pub

Irish rockers The Script appeared at the Ivy House pub in Drumcondra this evening, to wish revellers a happy Arthur's Day.

The north-Dublin pub was the place to be this Arthur's Day as Irish rock sensation The Script turned up to play an evening set.

The crowd were electric as Ballinteer-boy Danny O'Donoghue stepped up to the mic to bring on the Arthur's Day celebrations with renditions of hit songs like "Before the Worst" and "Six Degrees of Separation"

.

The Script's front-man gave a big thumbs up on his way out of the packed-out gig.

Ricky Wilson Takes Over Danny O'Donoghue's Chair

It has been confirmed that Ricky Wilson front man of "The Kaiser Chiefs" will take Danny O'Donoghue's chair and be the final judge on The Voice 2014.

Janine comes clean about breakup with Jaypee

In an interview with 'The Buzz' Janine Tugonon, talked about her future in America and also addressed the rumors about Danny O'Donoghue.

.Last April, Tugonon made headlines when she broke up with Santos after she admitted on national television that she got attracted with The Script vocalist Danny O'Donoghue.

“I kept quiet during that time. There’s nothing I can say that can actually change what people think It’s already set in their mind. So I really wanted to wait for the right time to finally explain what happened.

“I think I was misunderstood. the public and Jaypee's family perceived that I dumped Jaypee without caring about how he felt and not for any particular reason. There’s a bigger story behind that breakup,” she said. “I want to keep it private as much as possible but with family and the press making a big issue about Danny O'Donoghue from The Script. I couldn't get the reason across I had been condemned and no one was going to listen or believe me. But the break up was more than just that it was a mutual decision.”

“I admit I was at fault because of what happened on The ‘Kris TV’ interview, it was my fault. But the breakup, was already starting to happen before the concert, before everything popped out, so the press used the story, but I did still add fuel to the fire with my comments” she added.

Tugonon, however, admitted that O'Donoghue was indeed one of the reasons why they called it quits.

“Of course, I admit I got attracted. I said that on ‘Kris TV.’ Who wouldn’t? I love the band, I love their music a lot. And yes I got attracted, who wouldn't? So maybe it was a small part of it but we just fell out of love and that was the main reason,” she said.

Tugonon also emphasized that O’Donoghue did not court her.

“The press turned it into a massive story and said that we were dating, just think about it, how can it happen, he’s in the other side of the world? I think we just talked. Of course, and yes I admit, I was attracted to him and kinda whisked along with the whole fairy tale idea. But no, there was NEVER EVER anything going on. I was lucky enough to meet him and the band, we chatted and had a photo together but that is all it ever was,” she said.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME!

Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones came close to joining BBC ‘talent’ show The Voice, but decided to withdraw as talks progressed.

Speaking to MTV, Stereophonics front man Kelly Jones revealed he entered early discussions with the show’s bosses with a view to signing up as a judge, but ‘bottled it’ when things started to get more serious. The place on the swiveling chair eventually went to Danny O’Donoghue of The Script.

“I had a couple of chats with some people and once they asked me back for the third chat I realised they were serious and I bottled it,” Jones explains.

“It took between January and June of your year away and we’re happy just as being a band, I mean we watch it on a Saturday nights.

Danny took the job and he was a damn good judge all the right stuff, funny, straight to the point at times, making all the ladies swoon and lastly being a bloody annoying git at times. That is what makes a good judge and I don’t think I’d be that comfortable judging other people.

Look at The Script now though! It could have gone either way for them, now everyone knows who they are and Danny managed to get their music heard by a much wider audience, full credit to him. I have to say though he has made a good decision to leave now and concentrate on The Script, people know who they are and now they will show the world what they are made of.

Script’s Danny O’Donoghue leaving BBC’s The Voice

Singer Danny O'Donoghue will not be returning to The Voice, he has announced.

The Irish heartthrob, who won the BBC1 show this year with partially-sighted singer Andrea Begley, is following in the footsteps of Price Tag star Jessie J, who recently announced she was leaving.

The star, who appeared at T in the Park at the weekend with his band The Script, said he will not be back as coach next year because of recording commitments.

The announcement leaves half of the four-strong panel of coaches - which also featured Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am - no longer attached to the BBC show.

Danny said: "I had two wonderful seasons on The Voice and as everybody knows I gave it my heart and soul and couldn't be more proud of the show and what we have achieved.

"My focus will be on The Script moving forward as we are about to embark on the most important part of our career as a band."

Mark Linsey, BBC controller, entertainment commissioning, said: "Danny has been an absolute star - and a winner - on The Voice but we understand that he, like Jessie, has to focus on his music career and The Script have such an incredibly busy year ahead.

"The Voice coaches are all current music stars with recording and touring careers to manage alongside the show and we know this can be difficult to juggle. We are very sorry to see Danny go but wish him and the band the very best and hope they will come back and perform for us next series."

The BBC said that the full coaches' line up for the third series will be announced in due course.

York film company links up with Irish chart-toppers again for The Script’s latest video

A YORK film maker has just finished creating the latest music video for Irish pop stars The Script.

Paul Banks’ video production company, Digifish, has worked with the chart-topping band since 2010, when it created a documentary called The Road To Aviva, which followed The Script as they embarked on a sell-out world tour.

Paul, who is also the guitarist with York group Shed Seven, said: “We had a ten-minute interview, and we’re still working with them, three years and two DVDs later.

“Following on from the DVD, I then was asked to begin work with them again when they starting writing and recording their number three album last year.

“We are also currently documenting their current world tour which has seen us film them in the USA, Asia, Europe and Australia over the past eight months.”

Earlier this year, Paul worked on the video for the single If You Can See Me Now, which has been viewed more than eight million times on YouTube.

Paul said: “Following on the success of that and through the close working relationship I have with the band, I was asked to pitch an idea for Millionaires.

“The band made it clear from the very start that they wanted the video to film like a short film and that they didn’t want to be in it, making it different to all their other videos. Although the song is called Millionaires it is really saying that you don’t need to be rich to feel like a millionaire, its about how you live your life, the friends you have.”

The latest video is a short story about a young couple and their friends, and how they see the world through rose tinted glasses. It has already been viewed more than a million times on YouTube.

Paul said: “Hopefully it is a video that most people can relate to and there are several little twists to look out for.”

Touring and poor technique 'damaging singers' voices'

Many singers are damaging their voices because of busy touring schedules and younger bands who shoot to fame very quickly have more chance of damage due to poor vocal technique and lack of training.

Ali Tennant, who works on The Voice, says unless singers take care of their voices, the damage can be irreparable.

It's after the likes of Justin Young from The Vaccines and Nathan Sykes from The Wanted damaged their vocal cords singing.

He said: "It was strange, the surgeon sitting me down and saying, 'You have got to contemplate never singing again. Try and stay positive but if it does go wrong prepare to be devastated'."

Danny O'Donoghue from The Script has had problems with his voice too.

"I've had sore throats and a collapsed lung," the frontman said. "I've had the doctor say, 'You'll never sing again.' It's terrifying."

Janet Wilson, an ear, throat and nose consultant in Newcastle, says they see a lot of singers whos tours get bigger as artists become more successful.Combining that with the amount of interviews singers have to do and there is often little time to rest their voice.

"That is a recipe for disaster for the voice particularly as they become more successful," she said.

"A lot of young artists nowadays don't have any [discipline] because of the nature of how they come to be," he explained.

"Whether they came off The X Factor or The Voice, they don't have the time to learn.

The Voice 2014

Okay, let's get this straight, as you know Danny O'Donoghue is a good friend of The Dublin Weekender and  we have noticed a few reports about the next series of The Voice. On the face of it it looks like Danny says he IS coming back next year BUT if you read further into the interviews you will see this:

As for his own future, the singer says no plans for the next series are in place as yet:

"No, not yet. It's been commissioned but they just let the dust settle a bit and then we'll all be approached I guess."

Would he like to return?

"Listen, I would. Of course I'm going to be sitting back there rubbing it in everybody's face. In fairness, it depends on schedule. The BBC were fantastic dealing with The Script's manic schedule this year."

So until we hear Danny say yes he is going back please read all the reports and interviews thoroughly. We know he has said he would like to that is a God given. Of course we are with all our readers and we would love to see him back but until we get it straight from the horses mouth we will just hope. Just remember people would like / would love and will are very different things.

Danny O’Donoghue takes Andrea Begley & Karl Michael on a surprise trip

Danny O’Donoghue has been a busy boy of late. Not only is the Irish star working away on The Voice, with his last two remaining contestants, but he’s also busy with his own band The Script and today the group have released their latest music video.

The Script have already confirmed that ‘Millionaires’ is to be the next release from their 2012 album ‘#3′ and they’re hoping it enjoys the same level of success as former hits ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘Six Degrees of Separation’.

The video was released online today and Danny told his Twitter followers:

“Millionaires vid is live HERE….tweet us what you think with #ScriptMillionaires ”

The Script have had a busy schedule of late and not long after coming off their tour, which concluded in Australia, they performed for the Queen as she visited the BBC’s new Broadcasting House headquarters last week.

Her majesty is most likely not a huge rock fan and her single clap wasn’t exactly a ringing endorsement for the stars, however despite her lukewarm reaction Danny seemed excited to have met the British monarch.

As well as promoting his own music, Dan the man has been busy bigging up The Voice contestants too and he tweeted about their chart success this week saying:

Karl Michael revealed today that Dan had a bit of a surprise up his sleeve for him and Andrea Begley and posted:

Karl and Andrea are Danny’s last two contestants and both will perform on Saturday night, desperate to win the star’s last place in next week’s final.

Digifish Collaborate with The Script on Their Latest Music Video - Millionaires

Digifish are a video production company located just outside of York and have teamed up with best-selling band The Script once again to film their last music video, Millionaires. Digifish have been working with The Script since 2010 creating online content for the band.

“Millionaires” is the band’s fourth single to be released from The Script’s worldwide hit album “#3”. Paul Banks, the founder of Digifish directed the video in London.

The video features a strong narrative structure about a group of friends who have nothing yet feel like millionaires.

It is a nostalgic tale that everyone can relate to or understand in some way.

Digifish casted over 50 actors for the video in order to get the correct casting to portray the tale well.

Model Alex Rose, is at the heart of the story and gives a sterling performance throughout.

The video was filmed in Thamesmead in London across two nights with a large crew of over 22 people. Digifish worked alongside Nice & Polite, a London agency, to produce the video.

Danny O'Donoghue, of The Script has loved working with Digifish for a second time stating;

"Paul Banks Digifish Creative Director is not only a great film maker but a teacher and a friend too..."

In addition; the Digifish team was commissioned to produce the ‘behind the scenes’ video of which extracts were aired on Daybreak on the 6th June. The BTS video will be released very soon.

The Voice UK 'Fast Pass' Twist Returning For First Live Show?

The quarter-finals of the BBC competition have been moved forward to a Friday night to avoid clashing with the Britain's Got Talent finale on Saturday, and in a further bid to spice up the competition, bosses have allegedly kept the Fast Pass twist from the Knockout rounds in tact.

It is rumoured that each coach will be able to put one of their three remaining artists through automatically; leaving the remaining two to battle it out in the public vote. It is then assumed that one artist from each of the four teams will leave the competition tomorrow night.

So we will all wait and see what the quarter-final brings

The Script By Royal Appointment BBC's New Headquarters To Open With A Royal Fanfare

After a week of celebrations to mark 60 years since her coronation, The Dublin Weekender hears of another treat in store for the Queen when she visits New Broadcasting House on Friday. Her tour will begin in Radio 1's Live Lounge where she will be serenaded, if that's the right word, by The Voice coach Danny O'Donoghue and his band the Script. They will be performing a new song for her majesty, but no word yet as to whether she will be required to listen to it sitting with her back to Danny in a swivel chair. Radio 4 listeners will be able to hear the Queen officially open NBH live later in the morning during a special programme about the building, presented by James Naughtie and Sian Williams. But if you want to catch a glimpse of the Queen, then tune into the BBC News Channel. Eagle-eyed viewers should be able to spot her over the presenters' shoulders as she tours the corporation's state-of-the-art plate-glass newsroom. A bunch of bananas to any brave member of the gallery who shouts to the presenters: "She's behind you."

Bruno Mars And The Script fans are shocked out of Centra

CUSTOMERS at a shop on the Glenshane Pass got the shock of their lives when two of the biggest names in pop music strolled in and picked up some snacks.

US solo artist Bruno Mars stopped off at a Centra shop in Maghera en route to Radio 1's Big Weekend in Derry and was followed some hours later by Danny O'Donoghue, pictured, from Dublin band The Script.

The pop stars were stocking up on some hot food and sugary snacks ahead of their performances in front of 13,000 fans in Derry's Ebrington Square on Sunday night.

Emma O'Hagan was working on the till at 8.30am on Sunday when two vehicles pulled up outside and a number of men spilled out.

"They were singing and rapping around the shop and we were asking 'who is that?'

And as if one major artist was not enough for Centra staff to handle, four hours later along came another in the form of Danny from The Script who also stopped off for hot food.

The Voice judge arrived at around 12.45pm and ordered various hot snacks, including sausage rolls. He also  bought a selection of sweet pastries and sweets and left the store, with a member of his entourage paying and carrying the food to the singer's vehicle.

Pop stars, they're just like buses in Co Derry now.
