Animal Crackers Part 2 - Breakeven

The Script 'Classic Moment' In March 2009 The Script visited Cincinatti Zoo for the first ever 'Save The Rhino' event Part 2

It always seems that Danny is always quick to get in and interact with the animals, where as Mark, Glen and Ben seem to prefer to step back and watch him. Danny is certainly at one with nature.

Animal Crackers.......... Who Danny or The Rhino?

Another Script 'Classic Moment' In March 2009 The Script visited Cincinatti Zoo for the first ever 'Save The Rhino' event.

The Irish rock band, The Script, plays at the first Zootini event for the Cincinnati Zoo. This is a fundraising event for CREW, The Center for the Reproduction of Endangered Wildlife. The band was taken on a tour of the Zoo before the performance, meeting the Zoo's rhinos which are an important part of the CREW research.

Would you like onions with that Danny?

We had a chat with Mark about jokes, tricks and fun on the road
(The Dublin Weekender May 2000)

DW: You guys like to play practical jokes don't you?

MARKWe do funny stuff on people all the time.

DW: Is it on each other or do you include people outside of the group?

MARK: We do things on each other all of the time and on other people. We can’t do pranks on our record company people because they are so heavy and serious.

DW: Can you think of any good pranks you have played on each other that you can repeat?

MARK: I’m trying to think. Most people don’t understand us when we speak because of our accents. So, for example, we would go into Subway, and because no one can distinguish our voices from each other, so I know that Danny hates onions. So Danny will ask for like chicken and bacon and I’ll stand behind him and go, ‘And loads of onions.’ And the girl will put like millions of onions on there and Danny will say, ‘Actually, I don’t want onions.’ And she goes, ‘You just said you wanted onions,’ and she’ll turn to take them off and I’ll say, ‘Actually, give me the onions.’ And he just freaks.

So we do shit like that on each other like that all the time. There are more, but I don't think I can share those, we are a very vulgar band. (laughs)

Arthurs Day 24th September 2010

About That Whole Arthur's Day Palaver...

Right. So we weren't exactly behind the social implications of the Arthur's Day Guinness drinks promotion thingy. Why? Well it's basically tantamount to having a Budweiser Wazzup Day. All of Ireland transformed into a bad night-out on Fresher's Week on the back of some marketeer inspired misguided National identity crisis vibe...

We hate to rain on the Arthur's Day parade folks, but, we don't really have to. The rain rained on the Arthur's Day parade so there was no lad shouting "To Arthur!" outside the Temple Bar with it being misheard and repeated as "To Martha!" up at the nearby Quays Bar. Yup. We know the actual pubs that were the locations for the viral ad campaign. We're special.
But at least someone saw the satirical side of Ireland celebrating a Diageo TV Ad with absolutely no sense of irony. Over at the Porter House micro brewery the staff were wearing t-shirts stating: The Porter House. It May Not Be 251 Years Old, But At Least It's Irish! Boom. Boom.

Due to the typically wet and windy weather all of the real Arthur's Day action was mainly inside the pubs. Twas bucketing down at 17:59. But sorry folks, without paying pricey ticket admissions to most of the select venues, unlucky punters could merely peer in through windows at all the Guinness marinated craic going on inside.

One of our snappers hung out at Bruxelles Bar just off Grafton Street where The Script played a 'secret' Arthur's Day gig. Alas, along with a gang of soggy female Script fans, it was all witnessed from the street... Like the Dublin Lock-out all over again - if ever we needed another James Larkin figure, it was then. Sob.

Aww Bless Danny O'Donoghue, Don't wake him up Shush!

The Good Ole Days, Classic Moment Picture, sadly I don't have an exact date for this although we know it is a while ago

(If you do know please email me)

Here they try to work out the cheapest option for the flight do you wake Danny or just put him in the hold with the luggage

What's cheaper excess baggage or a seat?

Do you think we can get him on with the baggage and save the price of his seat?

This isn't a very old video but well worth going into the classic moments.

The Good Ole Days - 2011 THE CORONAS and THE SCRIPT ~ Last Shots of the Tour

The 'Good Ole Days' is part of the classic moments section we have and here you will find various little items.

Here we have a tour update and pictures of The Coronas on tour with The Script in February 2011 written by Danny O’Reilly.

THE CORONAS and THE SCRIPT ~ Last Shots of the Tour

This European leg of the tour was amazing with The Script. Here is a pic of all of us together.

February 17th, 2011 :: DANNY ~ The last two and a half weeks has seen us play to over 20,000 people across 9 countries. We’ve lived in relative luxury on a savage tour bus, seen some amazing cities and made loads of friends along the way. Our support tour to one of the biggest bands in the world at the moment, The Script, has finally come to an end and we’ll never forget it. The tour literally couldn’t have gone much better for us. The venues were full for our sets, the crowd reaction was unbelievable for an opening act, and we actually played as tight as we ever have.

To be honest though, for me, the best thing about the tour is not all that stuff. Its the fact that it gave me a glimpse into what I want our lives to be like (as a headline act) for the next 10 to 15 years, maybe more. I could sit here and tell ya’s that I’m content with where we are as a band right now and that we don’t have ambition to be the best and biggest band we can be, but anyone who knows me properly would know I’d be lying.

Getting to know Danny, Mark and Glen was not only cool because they’re a savage band and genuinely lovely people but because they openly discussed their meteoric rise over the past few years with a “we know you guys can do it too” sort of attitude and it meant loads to us. Massive thank yous to Danny, Mark, Glen, Ben, Quinner, Colin, Mark “da scouse”, Bob, Matt, Mini, Ritchie, Jamie, Jonty, and Perry for being so sound to us and for making it so easy.

And so our own adventure begins. Starting today in Portland, Oregon, finishing in Chicago on Paddys Day with 15 or so shows in between. Of course it’s to a smaller scale. The biggest venue’s capacity on this tour of North America is just over 500 (Lisbon had 3,900 sold out) but it’s our own tour, our own adventure and there’s nowhere we’d rather be… OK that last line is a bit corny but ya’s know what I’m getting at!

Don't EVER dare Glen Power to do something because he WILL!

In a new classic moment to add to our collection, we feature an older recording of an Australian music program (2009). Where Danny and Mark fear to tread our Glen never lets us down.

Excited much Danny?

In this 'Script Classic Moment' Danny gets over excited on Children In Need 2012. He got all excited about meeting fellow Irishman and TV legend Terry Wogan. Unable to contain his excitement when he was asked about The Voice he jumped on the sofa Tom Cruise style an getting the audience chanting.
