THE Script's Danny O'Donoghue is helping Voice winner Andrea Begley with her debut record - despite quitting the show.
Andrea, who is registered blind, will be releasing her album The Message on October 21 and said Danny has been instrumental in creating the record.
She added: "I have been flying back and forth to London since June.
"And I have worked on one of the album tracks with Danny - he produced the track which is one of my own songs so I was really excited to get into the studio and work with him. We were in contact all during the summer.
"Danny was in America doing stuff with The Script over there but he kept in touch and was always asking how things were going and what the plans were with the recordings.
"He had said all along from even before the show finished that he really wanted to do something with me so when he got back from America we scheduled in some studio time.
"And it was a really nice experience because it was a very different environment from the show and he helped me a lot.
"He's very supportive of the album and keen we get it released before Christmas."
"It's a bit of a shock to the system in that I never thought I would win The Voice.
"Getting used to that was a surprise at the start and ever since then I have been adjusting to being backwards and forward to London."
But as the niece of country legend Philomena Begley, Andrea knows the music industry is a tough one.
She said: "It can be quite tough at times and that's something I have been aware of from a very young age, especially with my aunt Philomena being in the music business as well.
"There are highs and lows but that could be said of anything and I think if you are aware of it, then you just have to take things as they come.
"And hopefully there will be more highs than lows."
Andrea is just one of the inspirational women who will be appearing at The People Of The Year Awards this Saturday.
THE People Of The Year Awards will be broadcast live from the Citywest Hotel on RTE One this Saturday after the 9pm news.
I might have won a TV show but I am just starting out in the industry
