See a new snap of Sir Tom Jones, Danny O'Donoghue, Jessie J and will.i.am ahead of the singing contest's second series
Sir Tom Jones, Danny O'Donoghue, Jessie J and will.i.am are all returning to The Voice UK later this year for the singing contest’s second series, and here’s the first new picture of the four coaches to be released.
Based on a Dutch TV format from Big Brother creator Jon de Mol, The Voice UK debuted on BBC1 in 2012 and differed from other TV talent contests by vetting its contestants in blind auditions.
Its first series was won by Leanne Mitchell, who signed a reported £500,000 recording contract after triumphing on the show.
And this year, bosses have promised that there will be a number of changes to The Voice UK's format. Writing on Twitter in February, they said: “This year, in the Battles, each of our coaches can STEAL a rival coach's artist from the ones that get out-battled.
“After the Battles comes THE KNOCKOUTS, where each artist picks a "killer song" to perform. Coaches take their favourite three to the finals.”
