Singer Bill Downs has made it through the audition stage of Britain's Got Talent last month - despite being an ex-contestant on rival show The Voice.
The singer made it as far as the 'battle rounds' of The Voice, which is aired on the BBC, but he lost out to Max Milner when mentor Danny O'Donoghue pitted the two against each other.
O'Donoghue admitted later that he had made a mistake with the decision, stating, "It was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life."
However, Simon Cowell was unaware of this when Downs auditioned for Britain's Got Talent - as he doesn't watch The Voice. After Downs got approved by the judges he admitted that he'd been on The Voice, to which Cowell said, "I didn't watch it - like a lot of other people."
He added, "We don't have those silly battle rounds here."
A source told The Sun, "Simon's dislike of The Voice was clear, but he was backed by the audience who cheered his every word. Bill's a very talented singer and The Voice were obviously stupid not to see that.
"He wowed the judges and the audience. The BBC will be spitting blood if Bill wins the show and goes on to be a huge success."
