The Music Was Therapy - After Their Parents' Death

Last night The Script performed at Svenska Idrottsalan at The Ericsson Globe and they spoke to us before the gala

But behind the pop poses they hide the pain of losing two lost parents.

The pain never go away, says singer Danny.
The Irish scripts latest single "Hall of fame", recorded with Will.i.am, continues to run hot on the Swedish radio stations.

What did you think of the Awards last night?
It's great to celebrate your biggest stars. I have recently become single, so girls get fit, says singer Danny O'Donoghue , laughing.

"We're Tough Guys"

But the Grammy Awards are just a short stop on the way. The band has not a single gap in the calendar - until August.

The success and the hectic schedule has forced Glen Power to grapple with the role as a parent - and rock star. It's tough. I miss the family. One day, you are at home, the next gone. You have to turn it off, but it is difficult, he says.

And the family is important for The Script. The band's tragedy and grief started with guitarist Mark's mother, she had been diagnosed with cancer and 10 months later she was died. Shortly after that Danny's father died of a sudden heart attack.

To deal with the grief we turned to music
We're pretty tough guys. Some people turn to drink or drugs, but we chose the music. It became like a therapy. You'll go through anything, only you have the music, says Mark Sheehan .

On the new album "# 3" they write about family loss - for the first time.

It was hard. We've never talked about this. But a problem shared is a problem halved. I felt relieved afterwards. We had to write about it, says Danny.

The Swedish fans can soon expect a pleasant surprise. No dates are booked but The script would return to Sweden.

We want to have a big concert here. Our song "Hall of fame" has gone surprisingly well. It would be wonderful to show our Swedish fans how we are live. We have always loved Sweden and really want to come back here, says Danny.
