THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE DOING STAND UP THE ENTIRE SESSION.
The Script trio, comprising of Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power was in town to promote their latest album '#3'. They released their self-titled debut album which featured hit singles like 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' and 'Breakeven' in 2008, and their second album 'Science & Faith'.
The band's third studio album celebrates the power of three; three people, three equals and a three-word mantra which resonates throughout; 'head, heart and feet'. It was with this release that they managed to clinch their first UK number one single 'Hall of Fame' (featuring one third of the Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am). The band had only wonderful things to say about working with Black Eyed Peas' will.i.a.m. "He's a great guy to work with, very professional and a true genius at what he does," Sheehan commented.

At the press conference, frontman O'Donoghue expressed his thanks for the faithful many who keep the band going. "This time around, it is a testament to all our fans and that The Script are getting bigger and better every time… We're just over the moon," he said. "We write songs for ourselves first, and then we present them to the world. It’s an amazing feeling that the world had accepted them."
Elaborating more on their latest album, they had a working ethos in their head. They wanted to make music for the head, heart and feet; music that people could think about, feel and dance to.
When asked about how #3 was different from the last two albums, O'Donoghue said: "It has a more accomplished sound… it’s a perfect meld of current contemporary album that has all the hallmarks of The Script record but has the balls of hip hop as well."
OH DANNY, WHY ARE YOU SO DREAMY
"I think the great thing about the band is its chemistry and energy; it is that energy that brought us to where we are now, I believe," Power explained when asked about group dynamics.
Having said that, Power added that leaving home, their family and friends was one of the toughest challenges they had to face, and a sacrifice they had to make.
GLEN POWER BEING PENSIVE
"Everything else you do, from getting better on stage, from getting used to all the shows, that monster goes away after a while. But that one thing that gets increasingly worse is the fact that we are away from home," Sheehan mused.
Look out for their next single, 'Six Degrees of Separation'! It is my personal favourite, capturing the essence of heartbreak and dealing with the loss of love. Plus, they are coming back to Singapore next year for a concert, and this time I shall not miss it for the world.
