Andrea Begley's album has Danny O'Donoghue-produced song 'The Message'

The Voice UK winner Andrea Begley will release her debut album The Message next month.

The Northern Irish singer won the second series of the BBC talent competition in June over bookies' favourite Leah McFall and is now preparing to release her first record on 21 October.

Since her win, Andrea has been working in the studio alongside various producers, including her 'The Voice' mentor Danny O'Donoghue, who produced the album's lead track 'The Message'.

Talking about The Script frontman, she said: "Danny has been a fantastic source of support to me both throughout the show and beyond it. He has always believed in me and in my songs and it was a total honour and privilege for him to produce one of my own songs for the album.

"I couldn't stop smiling while I stood in the studio with him working on the track. I count myself a very lucky person."

Back in June, the singer said Danny was fully supportive of her and wanted to be involved in the album creative process.

She added at the time: "I have a good idea in my head of the road I'm going to take. I do some songwriting and I play the guitar and I have a good idea of where I want to go as an artist."

Andrea's first album will include songs she has written herself and versions of her favourite songs, including Bruce Springsteen's 'Dancing In The Dark'.

"This album for me is the best showcase of myself as an artist, I think it captures my personality within it," she said. "The album is extremely close to my heart and offers the listener a first taste of the direction I intend to go as an artist beyond this point."

Andrea will perform tracks from her album at two upcoming gigs: one in her native Belfast at the Ulster Hall on 3 November and another at Union Chapel, Islington, London, the following night.

The full tracklisting is:

1. Ho Hey
2. Dancing In The Dark
3. Secret Smile
4. Breakfast At Tiffany's
5. The Message
6. Lightning Bolt
7. Angel
8. Latch
9. Autumn
10. Take On Me
11. Falling Slowly
12. Love Will Tear Us Apart

Here they try to work out the cheapest option for the flight do you wake Danny or just put him in the hold with the luggage

What's cheaper excess baggage or a seat?

Do you think we can get him on with the baggage and save the price of his seat?

How Rude Sir Bob Geldof !! poor Danny

After their performance on the Isle of Wight Sir Bob Geldof talked to some of the media and some of us from the Dublin Weekender were lucky enough (or unlucky depending how you look at it)
We were surprised the Irishman was not quite as gracious as we once thought.

In case you don't know who Sir Bob Geldof is, he was a founder of the 'Live Aid', 'Band Aid' charities with none other than Bono from U2. Both are known as great singers & philanthropists.

Bob Geldof had hardly toweled off before Sky News jumped on him wanting his thoughts on Nelson Mandela, the Olympics, the G8, Drop The Debt and the role of China in geo-politics.

‘My head is not in the right place to think about any of that,’ says Geldof. ‘I have just been on stage leaping around like a salmon.’Except, of course, Geldof doesn't use the word ‘salmon’. He deploys that most controversially blunt of expletives. Geldof swears like most people breathe and if sensitive souls are troubled, well his advice is almost inevitable.

‘F*** it,’ Geldof guffaws, would be a decent title should he get around to writing the sequel to his audaciously titled best-seller Is That It?.

‘But no-one would read it,’ he frets. ‘Who in their right mind would be interested in the last 20 years of my life?’

Danny O’Donoghue would. The handsome and enigmatic singer with The Script (and star of TV’s The Voice) is hovering humbly at Geldof’s elbow, attempting to attract his hero’s attention. Waiting to be able to have a few words with  Geldof telling him how he loved his set.

This is the piece where we get angered, and we never thought we would say it but he is an egotistical and most arrogant man.

He exhales slowly, barely making eye contact with Danny, almost treating him as nothing but Danny being the sort of guy that he is ignores Geldof's attitude  and says:

‘Well done on… everything.’

‘You’re amazing,’ is all a plainly terrified Danny can manage, like any fan meeting their idol.

'Yep,’ snaps Geldof and stalks off.

Are you as shocked as we are? We are still trying to get over the fact that this 'great' man everyone admires was just a total ass. If he acts like that with a fellow performer how on earth is he with other fans? He acts like we all owe him a living well here's a fact. 'You did a great thing, but somehow you have turned into something nasty.

Later on in another interview he said he thought of Bono as an annoying younger brother, a very rich annoying younger brother.'

Asked later how Danny felt with being almost swatted away by the star he very graciously answered. 'The man had just finished an energetic set, was pounced on by reporters then gets this star struck idiot here wanting to speak to him. he was bound to be tired.'

We just had to say 'We haven't seen you act that way with your fans' Danny's answer is simply 'That's different, he probably thought I wanted to steal information from him.'

Danny laughs in the way only Danny can then fobs the whole episode off and carries on as normal. We hasten to add that means he then went to chat to some fans. It is so nice to see a band that is humble and remember their roots.
'They know it is the fans who put them where they are today and they don't intend to forget it.‘
