The Voice has always prided itself on doing exactly what it says on the tin, that is, being all about The Voice of the artists featured, and not how they look or what they’ve done in the past…
However, it seems that The Script front man and The Voice coach Danny O’Donoghue reckons a bit of sexiness thrown in for good measure can’t do any harm as his team members battle it out to stay in the contest…
Apparently, while coaching singers Abi Sampa and Laura Oakes ahead of their performances in the coming weekend’s show, Danny suggested some sexy moves wouldn’t go amiss.
The Daily Star reports that as the girls rehearsed, Danny told Laura, “When you came up like that, it was perfect, real nice, real sexy.”
Turning to Abi, he added, “So you do the same thing, just walking up a little sexy.”
For single lad Danny, being around the numerous beautiful women wannabes on the show must be akin to a kid living in a sweet shop, and of course, it was rumoured that Danny had had a fling with former contestant Bo Bruce, and that he had the hots for singer Alice Barlow.
Of Alice, who left the contest recently, Danny explained that press reports about him being rather up close and personal with her were exaggerated and that in fact, he was just comforting her as she went through a tough time on the show.
He said, “Alice broke down in rehearsals. I said to her ‘show me the real you, if there are walls you have been putting up, pop that first brick out, take a little peak out, let me see who is behind there’.”
Also during the interview, Danny cautioned his artists against any backstabbing antics, saying, “If anyone tries to outshine the other one, if I haven’t already seen that now and they try and pull something crazy on the night, then I’ll know.
“And sorry dude, it’s teamwork. That’s what this show’s about.”
