He's now a household name after becoming a coach on talent show The Voice alongside Jessie J, Tom Jones and Will.I.Am.
The Script frontman Danny O'Donogue is taking the music industry by storm and is bringing his band to Bridlington for an gig ahead of their music festivals and American tour with Train.
So much has changed for Dublin-born Danny and band-mates Mark and Glen since they released their first album almost five years ago. They have toured with U2, Take That and Paul McCartney and sold more than four million albums worldwide.
Danny's popularity has also led to a mentoring spot on BBC's The Voice and he reached the number one spot with Hall Of Fame, after teaming up with fellow coach Will.I.Am.
As he heads to The Spa Bridlington this summer, staff at the venue say it is set to be a sell-out gig.
Manager Andrew Aldis said: "Our venue is the smallest the band are playing – the rest are huge arenas. This gig definitely has the wow factor.
"We've already had people ringing up for tickets ahead of them going on sale.
Tickets are still available HERE but selling very quick
"Watching Saturday night television when you work in theatre is never usually an option but I have been catching up on The Voice.
"This is one of a number of big names to kick-start the summer at The Spa and we are yet to announce the others, including acts for Brid Bash in August."
The Script's debut album featured hit songs The Man Who Can't Be Moved and Break Even, which hit the top spot in Ireland and the UK.
They repeated this success with their second album, which reached number three in the US, featuring hits For The First Time and Nothing.
Last year they released their third studio album, #3, striking gold within just two weeks of its release and earlier this year their UK arena tour sold out in just a week.
As well as getting used to the band's fame, Danny in particular has been the subject of tabloid stories.
Just this week, former Voice finalist Bo Bruce spoke to the press about a budding romance between the pair, which she claims was "wrecked" by BBC bosses.
But with his carefully gelled quiff, low-cut black tops and tattoos, he is never going to be short of attention from the ladies.
And to top it off, he is one of the most genuine celebrities out there, who brushes off his sex symbol status.
Let's hope there are enough first aid workers to deal with all the fainting girls at this concert.
