Sick ... Danny O'Donoghue
THE Voice has been thrown into chaos after coach Danny O’Donoghue was forced to pull out of filming due to illness.
The four coaches — who also include Will.i.am, Jessie J and Tom Jones — are halfway through recording the new BBC1 series, which launches next month.
But Danny has been told by doctors he must rest after contracting a bug that has laid him up.
The Script frontman — who is also due to go on tour with the band next month — was set to film a promo for the new series with the other coaches yesterday but was forced to pull out.
The others went ahead without him. Danny will film his part when he is better.
He was also due to appear on a number of other TV shows this week but these have also been cancelled.
Insiders said he could be consigned to bed for at least the next week.
A source said: “The coaches have all been working really hard on the new series in order to make it better than last year. Danny also has commitments with his band but it has obviously all got too much and he has been struck down by a nasty bug.
“Doctors have advised him to rest and he doesn’t know when he’ll be able to return to filming yet.”
The coaches have already filmed the blind auditions and the battle rounds, and are about to start recording a new stage — the knockouts.
TV Biz revealed on Monday it was being added to this year’s series in a bid to create more jeopardy — and stop ratings from crashing.
