The Voice UK coach Danny O’Donoghue has claimed that The X Factor is feeling threatened by the success of the BBC One series.
This year’s series of The X Factor has seen many changes, first seen in The Voice UK earlier this year.
These have included acts singing their own songs, playing their own instruments and the relaxing of rules regarding acts with management deals.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Danny suggested that the changes were made due to pressure from the success of The Voice UK.
He told the tabloid yesterday: “I think it shows they were worried about The Voice that they took some of the format from us.”
And hitting out at the show’s judges, he added: They endlessly slagged us, so I find it incredibly satisfying they have now taken on contestants playing instruments and real artists like we do.”
The Voice UK will return for a second series in the new year, with bosses planning more from the ‘spinning chairs’ and less live shows.
