OFF THE RECORD... DANNY FROM THE SCRIPT 

The Script return with a new album Science and Faith and single For The First Time. Danny dishes it about songwriting and those Cameron Diaz rumours...

Tell us about the new album...

“Everyone says the second album is harder than the first, but on the first one we had such a struggle to find out who we were, that this one came easier. I hope that’s not the kiss of death!”

What’s it all about?

“If you take Science as a guy and Faith as a woman – it’s about the struggle to find common ground! Me, Mark and Glen really write from our own experiences in life.”

That’s a bit worrying since all the songs are so sad!

“You may be right! The three of us call it therapy. We sit over a cup of cha and all the pain pours out. God help us if we ever get what we want, we’d have nothing to write about!”

It’s like Twilight set to music! And one fan site even describes you as “raven-haired and sensitive...”

“Oh no!” Danny laughs. “Glen has just told me I’m a charming, forgetful and athletic bullshitter!”

So what exactly happened with Cameron Diaz?

“That’s the only rumour I haven’t spread about myself that I’m chuffed about! We met on ‘The Today Show’ in the US and exchanged numbers. But she just liked the music. Honest! Have you seen her boyfriend A-Rod? He’s seven-foot tall. I’m not stupid!”

What would you like to do For The First Time?

“ Go into space, but I’d need to marry a celebrity and get a magazine deal to pay for it! Are you listening Cameron?”
