Both deny romance rumours
The Voice contestant Bo Bruce has admitted that she had an intense relationship with mentor Danny O'Donoghue - but only as close mates.
Bo and Danny have both have always denied speculation about a romance, but their strong bond developed because of their shared experiences of losing a parent.
Bo's mum Rosamond Winkley passed away in July after a battle with pancreatic cancer, whilst Danny unexpectedly lost his dad Shay O'Donoghue due to a stomach aneurysm shortly before The Script released their first album.
‘I was going through a lot and it was somethingDanny had been through,' Bo, 27, tells Ticket.
‘There was the intensity in that and we were really good mates. It's a confusing thing - people can't just be mates, but I've always had boy mates.'
Danny, who had recently split from girlfriend of 4 years Irma Mali when he started filming The Voice, found the rumours of a romance with Bo came at a difficult time.
‘It's been hard,' Danny, 31, tells The Sun.
‘I'd escape the pain of the break-up by going into the studio. I could deal with it all fine but it was all those crazy rumours of who I was dating.
‘This is the band's first time of dealing with the spotlight. I've been asked why I let the rumours go on for so long. But there's no handbook on how to deal with this, plus I was grieving. My relationship had ended.'
