Danny O'Donoghue is among the names rumoured to be in contention for a judging spot on The Voice Australia
Channel 9 has denied rumours that Danny O’Donoghue of The Script is in the running to replace Keith Urban as a coach on The Voice Australia.
Urban recently left the popular show to take up a spot on American Idol.
The Daily Telegraph reports that O’Donoghue and Kylie Minogue are among the names being considered by producers Channel 9 and Shine Australia.
The Script are on their way to Sydney for a sell-out show at the Metro Theatre on September 24.
O’Donoghue has already sat in a coach’s chair for the British version of the popular TV franchise, acting as a coach alongside Jessie J, will.i.am and Tom Jones.
However, a Channel 9 spokesperson today threw cold water on the latest buzz about Urban’s replacement.
“There are a lot of rumours floating around and all of them are untrue,” the spokesperson told the Irish Echo.
She added that the channel had ‘no idea’ when it would make a decision on Urban’s replacement.
